The Network Control Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting a Voice and Data network consisting of thousands of varied devices, serving customers across the Western United States. The NCT is responsible for monitoring the network for alarm conditions on a 24/7/365 basis, and following up on those alarms with investigation, confirmation, resolution, or escalation of the event as appropriate.
The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 2 years experience in network monitoring and troubleshooting with a focus on voice switching and telecommunications transport technologies, including but not limited to: Lucent 5ESS, Nortel DMS, Cisco 15454, Fujitsu optical, Turin optical, Nortel Optera, Turin White Rock, Infinera, MetaSwitch, Adtran, SS7, etc. Experience with testing and troubleshooting DS1, DS3, and OC level transport technologies is a plus. Excellent technical communications skills are required, as the NCT position interfaces regularly and directly with operations personnel both internally and externally.
Excellent troubleshooting skills are a must. Flexibility to work 2nd and 3rd shifts as well as holidays and weekends is required.
