SunGard Availability Services is an operating group of SunGard Data Systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide technical and detailed design support for implementation of new client networks.
* Implement configurations for managed network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).
* Coordinate network implementation tasks and interface with the project managers.
* Provide detailed implementation documentation for customer networks.
* Perform network configuration changes in response to customer requests.
* Maintain technical expertise and required industry certifications and stay current with new networking technologies.
SKILLS:
* B.S. degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience and a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent
* Minimum one year industry experience in an implementation and support role in a large enterprise or service provider environment.
* Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP4, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP and knowledge of Internet concepts and routing architecture is required.
* Knowledge of switching concepts including spanning tree, VLANs, PVLANs, and EtherChannel is required.
* Working knowledge of at least one of the following firewall platforms is required: Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco PIX/ASA firewalls, Netscreen/Juniper firewalls
* Working knowledge of at least one of the following load balancer platforms is desired: F5 BIG IP, Array, Alteon.
* Working knowledge of DNS is required.
* Working knowledge of Cisco IOS is required.
* Working knowledge of Juniper routers is desired.
* Extensive knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is required.
* CCNA or JNICA certification within the first 4 months of employment is required.
* Ability to learn and respond to demands in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities is required.
* Ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as, independently is required.
* Good organizational, time management, and service delivery skills are required.
* Effective written and oral communication skills are required.
* Strong computer skills and proficiency in productivity tools are required.
