We are currently looking for a Network Engineer II, to join the team in Westminster, CO.

Your Responsibilities:
Under general supervision:

  • Prepares technical requirements and specifications for complex network elements and routing schemes to support existing and future product/service functionality.
  • Participates in the development of existing network platforms and/or in the development of emerging network technologies.
  • Performs integration testing and deployment of new platforms, features and code releases.
  • Work closely with architecture, product development, product management and vendors to support equipment and application evaluation.
  • Participates in the implementation of engineering standards and procedures.
  • Perform technical and financial evaluation for network strategy, design features and architectures.
  • Provides Tier III support to various operations departments to resolve complex service-affecting issues.
  • Interface with vendors regarding evaluation/loads/support of equipment and applications and contract negotiation.
  • For positions with Systems Engineering focus, responsibilities include database and system administration in global production environments. Failure to obtain results would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Your Profile:

  • Typically requires a degree in Engineering or related technical field (or the equivalent in education and experience) with significant directly applicable of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple protocols and technologies, carrier grade platforms and related vendor equipment.
  • Broad application of engineering principles, theories and concepts.
  • Strong network design, engineering and support experience.
  • Requires strong analytical, problem solving, communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Requires the ability to effectively work with and influence internal and external parties to achieve results.
  • This position will require Network Security level screening. Pursuant to the Network Security Agreement (NSA) entered into between Global Crossing and the U.S. Government, only U.S. citizens may be assigned to this position.
