The Opportunity

Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client seeking a Network Engineer in Louisville, KY.

Duties:

  • The ability to travel around the country as the need arises to maintain the company's networking infrastructure in all of our 350+ locations throughout the continental USA

  • Provides expert and creative solutions (including troubleshooting, researching, implementing and documentation) to user problems on networking and to ensure user satisfaction and productivity

  • Researches and evaluates new technology solutions and making investment proposals to management

  • Contributes to development of annual and multi-year, technology road maps including strategic and operating plans

  • Researches, resolves, and responds to end-user/problems/questions received via email, telephone calls, callbacks, or escalations, and provides support on technology platforms, in accordance with current standards and service levels

  • Monitors assigned Service Desk tickets and ensures resolution of user issues in a timely fashion

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of other network support personnel as required

  • May act as product liaison for major products, working with other corporate departments and third-party developers to solve technical issues as needed

  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies, and methods of support delivery, in order to provide technically accurate solutions to users.

  • Participates in team projects as required

  • Must be available and willing to work such weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours as necessary or desirable to meet the business needs

  • Performs other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum 5 years in a network engineer role managing a LAN/WAN Minimum 2 years in an IT environment with responsibility for managing the LAN/WAN

  • Experience researching new technologies and making proposals to management

  • Significant experience troubleshooting, solving, and documenting networking and desktop hardware and software issues

  • Knowledge to configure/troubleshoot a Cisco router or switch from the command line

  • Managing and administrating mobile devices, LAN/WAN, Windows Desktop OS etc.

  • Solid organization skills and process improvement mindset

  • Must have strong customer service and communication skills

  • Effective ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines

  • Self-starter, independent thinker, and worker

  • Demonstrated ability to meet regular time and attendance requirements

  • Industry certifications preferred: CCT, CCNA or equivalents

  • Must be able to participate in regular after-hours on call support rotation
