Summit Technologies, Inc. has employment opportunities for several Network Engineer located in Montgomery, AL. The client is performing services for a government agency where access to classified information exists. Therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens able to obtain a government security clearance.
Job Title: Network Engineer
Job Description / Responsibilities:
· Analyzes local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.
· Resolves problems to obtain operations across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, and teleconferencing. Configures systems to user environments.
· Supports acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
· Responsible for the overall Layer 2 & 3 network design in support of the clients large LAN/WAN environment.
· Reviews client service requests and implements design changes that improve routing and bandwidth efficiency, insures adherence to traffic latency tolerances, reviews emerging technologies and its application in the clients infrastructure, provides Tier 1/2 support for service issues, and collaborates with COE engineering team in setting device-level configurations and options.
· This position requires a high-degree of experience and certification levels across a broad array of technologies and vendors including Cisco, Big IP, PIX and others, as well as, security management, application management, LAN/WAN management, and tool management.
Required Skills:
· 5-7 Years of Network Engineering experience in a Telecommunications industry
· Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferable
· Exchange Server
· ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
· Cisco Networking Products
· TCP/IP
· VoIP
· Infrastructure Security Services
· Certifications Preferable - CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, MCSA, MCSE
