Network Engineer, Tier II

Charleston, SC

Job Description:

Tier II Network Engineer responsible for configuration and troubleshooting of various networking equipment. This will include hands on network engineering support to the Defense Research Engineering Network (DREN) and Secret Defense Research Engineering Network (SDREN).

• Responsible for configuration, installation, troubleshooting and management of routers, switches, firewalls, Taclane’s, and other miscellaneous networking equipment
• Monitor Network Management tools for network outages/issues
• Conduct software upgrades as well as perform testing of code and new equipment before deployment

Shift work: noon – 8pm, Monday - Friday

Travel: Minimal travel required

Experience:

Minimum four years experience including: operational support, hands-on implementation, troubleshooting and configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls for large scale LAN/WAN environments.

Configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and management of two or more of the following devices:

-       Juniper routers

-       Cisco routers and switches

-       Juniper Netscreen firewalls including ISG 2000, NS-5200, NS-5400, and SSG series firewalls.

-       Juniper SSL-VPN SA 3000 and SA 4000

-       Foundry FastIron/BigIron switches

-       TACLANE encryptors

Configuration and troubleshooting experience with BGP (IPV4 and IPV6), OSPF, IPv6, and Multicast

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred

Additional:

Due to the nature of work performed in our facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Candidate must have active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance.
