Network Engineer / Analyst (Washington, D.C.)
Hill Associates is seeking a full-time network / telecom analyst with network security experience to support a large Washington, DC area Government agency with their IP-based data, voice, and video services. As a technical specialist, you will be part of a small award-winning Telecommunications / Networking / IT consulting firm with demonstrated success in delivering highly visible large-scale enterprise solutions.
Responsibilities include
Work on managed firewall, intrusion detection / prevention, VPN, and other security-related projects.
Providing guidance on requirements definition, technical solution design, and proposal development activities for major Federal initiatives (e.g., TIC).
Analyzing, troubleshooting, identifying root cause, and preventing recurrence of network and security issues.
Collaborating with intra-Department organizations and large telecommunication providers on network and security-related topics.
Test design, execution, and documentation of network and security-related technologies and integrated solutions.
Preparing recommendations to improve network infrastructure and performance.
Position Requirements
3-5+ years experience in IP networking and network / telecommunications / network security.
Strong knowledge of Cisco hardware and IOS capabilities (firewalls, routers, switches).
Proven systems engineering, hands-on configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in analysis and development of access control and firewall policies.
Knowledge of IP routing and transport protocols.
Solid communication skills.
Basic project planning and task management experience.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a high performance team.
B.S. or equivalent college degree; Advanced education and CISSP certification desirable.
