Network Specialist (1224) Location: Shelbyville
Description
GENERAL SUMMARY This position provides Network, Computer, Printer and Telecommunication support for all users in CKNA’s locations. This involves the administration and setup of all user accounts for Network, E-Mail and Telephone long distance access. Also serves as backup administrator for all CKNA servers and user data. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES - PC, Printer and LAN (Local Area Network) support. Setup and support all CKNA Network equipment including (but not limited to) Servers, PC’s, printers, and LAN equipment (hubs/switches/data lines/etc.). This includes handling any network connectivity issues that come up.
- Responsible for Administration and setup of all user accounts to access the Network and E-Mail. This includes assigning passwords and determining access requirements for all users
- CKNA Telecommunications Administrator-Installing phones, phone lines and troubleshooting problems with CKNA telephone communications. This includes setup of all new user accounts-allowing long distance access and voicemail setup
- Install and troubleshoot problems with all software installed on CKNA Computer equipment
- Take care of daily and monthly backups of Servers ensuring data integrity. This includes restoring lost or corrupt data for any user or department who attaches to any of our servers in TN (including MI, MS, and CA).

- Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
Required Experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with peers, other groups, and outside vendors.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and complete on-time.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment,
- Ability to support wireless networks, VLANs, TCP/IP, BGP.
- Ability to set-up and maintain Active Directory Services.
- Experience in WAN networks, MPLS, CSU/DSU, Private Lines.
- Experience in Cisco networking, DNS, IP admin, and VPN technologies.
- Monitor and maintain server performance. Make recommendations for future growth.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA, MCSE.
Requires a four year degree and 5+ years of experience in related field.
