Current Need

Responsible for configuring and maintaining switches and routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and VOIP phone systems in a healthcare environment. Position includes server-based maintenance of Active Directory and other functions.

Position Description

Defines, designs, and implements network communications and solutions. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manages load configuration of central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, installing, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. Trains other employees on system.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

Ability to configure, monitor, and maintain Cisco networking components. Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and maintain wired and wireless VOIP devices. Basic system administration of Linux servers. Ability to assist PC/Desktop support staff in troubleshooting issues.

Minimum Requirements

2+ years experience in network systems administration

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
