As a New Business Phone Representative, you will be communicating with Sales Representatives and various departments with responsibility for providing excellent service by phone and email on pending Life Insurance and Annuity business. You will be the key point of contact for our Sales Representatives for pending new business and will set the tone for the Life Company's service philosophy of 'Easy to do business with.' You will also have responsibilities for reviewing life insurance and annuity applications for completeness and following up with Sales Representatives for any outstanding requirements. - Understand all aspects of New Business application review and payment processing and be able to both communicate requirements to Sales Reps and handle these tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Provide outstanding customer service to all phone and written inquiries. Assists Sales Reps, Marketing, Accounting and Policyholder Services personnel with their questions and resolve issues relating to the issuance of new Life applications.
- Exhibit a professional & positive attitude everyday. Demonstrate the knowledge and focus to execute daily tasks as well as find opportunities to develop the role. Demonstrate the flexibility to adjust priorities and areas of support as business needs change.
- Reviews new business Life & Annuity applications for acceptability, completeness and accuracy. Contact sales representatives by email and phone for required information and follows up for completion. Responsible for maintaining turnaround time of reviews with department's stated service levels.
- Ensures integrity of customer policy data in New Business system. Responsible for validating completeness and accuracy of information. Ensures information to generate policy satisfies external compliance and internal procedural requirements. Able to recognize and process exceptions effectively.
- Occasionally participates in projects and cross-functional department teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Please note: the working hours for this position at 9:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Associates degree, or equivalent training required, and 1-3 years of experience in a customer service role.
- Outstanding customer service (written and oral communication skills)
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize, and analyze information to make logical decisions while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Basic understanding of Liberty Life products desired. Experience in Life and/or Annuity business preferred.
- Willingness to continue learning and working towards professional designations.
