North America Finance Director

The Finance Director will report to North America Vice President and indirectly to the Oakley Chief Financial Officer. The North America Finance Director will have direct responsibility for the planning, forecasting, sales analysis, commissions, budgeting, sales reporting and sales administration functions. The North America Finance Director receives accounting and financial reporting support from a finance shared services center in Foothill Ranch.
The North America Finance Director will have responsibility for the finance function of the North America Region including financial planning, forecasting, sales administration, credit and internal processes. The North America Finance Director will specifically be accountable for goals in the following areas:
- Contributing financial advice and strategic recommendations to plan and execute initiatives as well as provide visibility over all aspects of the region's sales performance.
- Monitor bookings, expense and headcount levels to ensure the achievement of financial goals while providing sales management with constant performance visibility and implementing the necessary programs to address issues and opportunities.
- Developing appropriate financial metrics and targets for the North America Region, including sales growth, operating profit levels, inventory levels, and receivable days outstanding.
- Establishing operating and financial plans for the North America Region.
- Oversee all aspects of sales compensation.
- Measuring and monitoring inventory levels, and identifying opportunities to improve inventory turnover.
- Financial analysis and approval of marketing programs and sales promotions.
- Reviewing receivables and customer credit limits to balance sales opportunities with credit risks in coordination with the wholesale controller.
- Develop and implement forecasting best practices.
- Coordinating demand forecasts to support product procurement levels.
- Responsible for creating metrics and driving improvements in forecasting, inventory, supply chain reliability and response capability.
- Monitoring and managing product return requests. Developing channel inventory and channel sell through reporting for key customers.
- Negotiating agreements with distributors, resellers, athletes, vendors, landlords, and other constituents.
- Develop a mechanism to measure and report on success of pricing strategies to corporate executives and the field sales and operations organizations.
- Product pricing decisions and analysis of product discount/markdown cadences.
- Evaluating the profitability of product segments, geographic territories, and sales channels toward identifying profitability initiatives and setting appropriate profit targets.
Successful candidates will possess the following attributes and experience:
- Outstanding academic credentials. Graduate degree and/or CPA/CA preferred.
- 8+ years of professional operations and finance experience.
- Corporate headquarters experience in financial or strategic planning of a large multi-national organization beneficial.
- Experience with consumer products required. Sports products experience helpful.
- Experience with large ERP systems, multiple sales channels, multiple subsidiaries, and multiple product lines helpful.
- Outstanding analytical skills. Thorough knowledge of discounted cash flow, IRR, ROI concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of data, recognize patterns and trends and organize observations into a clear and useful recommendation or explanation.
- Outstanding creativity and presentation skills required.
- Supervision of professional staff required.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
