Job Details:

  • Premium $40/hr + Diffs; Primary area placed is PICU; 7p-7a; Temporary 'agency' position; permanent address must be minimum 100 miles from facility.

    PICU skills / PALS required:

    Level 1 - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (20 beds)

    Care for patients experiencing critical illness or injury and complex surgical requirements; including open heart surgery, dialysis, and trauma care requiring specialized nursing skills.

    PALS, BLS and basic dysrhythmia monitoring required with in-house renewal courses provided

    Comprehensive pediatric-focused orientation provided

    IV and Sedation Certification of skill required of all nursing staff

    PICC line insertion and chemotherapy certifications are optional

    PICU RNs attend all pediatric codes in the house

    Job Summary: The CN - Internal Traveler assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. Floating to related areas required within the Children's Hospital. Minimal benefits provided. Position is temporary for 13 week assignment.

    Education: Completion of an accredited collegiate Registered Nurse program

    Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid Oklahoma Registered Nurse license

    Work Experience: 2 years recent directly related required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively exercise independent judgement in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
