CHART is a Medical Professional Liability Insurer and Patient Safety Organization (PSO) owned by 53 member community hospitals in PA, WV and NY. Our mission is to provide medical professional liability insurance for our member hospitals and physicians, as well as to improve patient safety, reduce medical errors and maximize the quality of health care. We are seeking a Nurse Educator with Emergency Department experience who possesses the following skills and experience base:
- Proficiency with current clinical/patient care best practices
- Experience with public presentation, curriculum development and evaluation principles
- Experience with the administration, implementation, evaluation and sustainment of educational programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel
- Experience with quality/process improvement tools and techniques is desirable
The Nurse Educator will serve as a subject matter expert, teacher, coach, and facilitator for CHART's Patient Safety Programs. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Nurse Educator is responsible for on-going training, support, consultation and mentoring throughout member community hospitals as they strive for clinical practice, patient satisfaction, and culture of safety improvements. The position is based in Southwestern Pennsylvania and requires up to 30% automobile travel outside the area to our member hospitals.
Requirements for this position include:
- Registered Nurse with Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience, preferably in the emergency department
- Current Nursing License
- Master of Science degree in Nursing desirable
- Project management experience a plus
