We are looking for a Occupational Health Nurse for our Shreveport, LA location.


 


The Occupational Health Nurse coordinates and directs the following:


 


  • Medical case management, care and handling of work related injuries and illnesses

  • Worker's comp first report of injury including working with the third party worker's comp company

  • Point person for restricted work program including the fitness for duty, STD/LTD/FMLA/absenteeism

  • Employee education including CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne pathogens, hearing conservation, respiratory protection

  • Coordinate with contract Occupational Physician for physicals, hearing conservation, respiratory certification, forklift certification, asbestos monitoring, Platinum testing, 12 lead EKG, blood draws, drug and alcohol testing, etc.

  • The role documents all notes and testing within an electronic recordkeeping software.

  • The candidate will be teaching employee wellness, CPR/First Aid/AED and must be comfortable standing in front of people.

  • Must be a good communicator with the ability to talk with department managers as well as hourly personnel.

  • Most of the test results are electronic so working with computer is very necessary.


Basic Qualifications


 


  • Candidate must be an LPN

  • 2 - 4  years experience within the Occupational Medical field work is required

Preferred Qualifications


 


  • Registered Nurse preferred

  • Experience with spirometry, 12 lead ekg, hearing test booth, blood draws, drug and alcohol testing, Portacount quantative fit testing, STD/LTD/FMLA, worker's comp, case management

  • Knowledge of OHM software program, SAP and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word

  • Knowledge of forklift certification, DOT medical testing, and asbestos monitoring
