Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

At Ideal Image, practitioners are trained at no cost to themselves.  Practitioners are trained to operate and maintain lasers and its accessories at the Tampa headquarters and/or at the center location.

Elective cosmetic procedures have benefits in regards to dealing with patients whom are well and are electing to have a medical procedure done.  A list of the responsibilities a successful laser practitioner has at Ideal Image is:

• Understands how to operate and maintain the laser and its accessories
  
• Is able to evaluate the patient's hair color, skin color, and area to be treated and chooses the best laser for the job.
  
• Decides the best laser settings and technique to deliver the optimal treatment.
  
• Knows and recognizes any contraindications to laser hair removal before treatment begins.
  
• Has a wonderful bedside manner, is able to communicate with the patient to gain respect, produces a calm environment of trust, answers questions and handles any adverse reactions to treatment.
  
• Gets along with the rest of the center staff.
  
• Maintains excellent customer service as the top priority.
  
• Exceeds customer expectations. 
  
• Attends provider meetings and training for new equipment or techniques.

Treatment:  The practitioner provides laser and other cosmetic treatments to patients under the direction of the physician medical director.  The practitioner prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment when needed.  The practitioner may refer patients to a physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.  The practitioner records laser treatment settings, significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents.  The practitioner notifies administration of problems with support staff, participates in risk management, and attends provider meetings and training for new equipment or techniques.
