Onsite Residence serves 23 adults in an Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with mental retardation. Residents participate in various activities in the residence or community, work or school programs, and gatherings that include family members and friends.
We are currently seeking Nursing Coordinator (RN)!
This position provides nursing care and skills training to adults with MR/DD. Responsibilities include: being in charge of all medical aspects of the program in the Nursing Administrator’s absence, taking individuals to doctor’s appointments, scheduling in-house services, assisting with emergency room visits, and medication passes. This position is also responsible for the supervision of the nurses, including scheduling, quality assurance, and training. The Assistant Nursing Administrator will ensure that programming and treatment take place within a positive atmosphere fostering adult-like behavior and act as a role model for appropriate behaviors.
Hours:
Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:30 pm. On-call and special coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
Ø State licensed RN with state approved pharmacology certification.
Ø Experience working with individuals with MR/DD preferred.
Ø Must have a demonstrated ability to organize tasks, manage crisis situations and provide direction and leadership for other staff.
Ø Must complete Fire Safety and Crisis Intervention within one month of hire.
Ø Requires ability to lift up to 25 lbs, ability to assist with lifting and transferring individuals weighing in excess of 100 lbs.
Ø Ability to provide therapeutic interventions during crisis situations required.
Ø Must be willing to submit to and pass criminal background check, drug test, TB test, and reference checks as required by state and federal guidelines for residential programs.
Ø Must have ability to effectively communicate with both verbal and non-verbal individuals.
Ø Must have CPR and First Aid certifications.
Ø Must have valid Ohio driver license and be insurable on company vehicles at all times.
