Nursing Interim Program Chair; Associate of Science in Nursing Program (14296)

The Nursing Interim Program Chair manages the development and implementation of the Associate of Science in Nursing Program. This position is a temporary consultant position at ITT Technical Institute with the opportunity for the individual to apply for a full-time position to become the Program Chair of the Associate of Science in Nursing program once the program is formally established. Key Responsibilities: - Develop an in-depth understanding of the state's nursing board and be able to submit applications properly, execute rules and regulation accurately, attend board meetings and establish an overall quality presence with the state nursing board.
- Work with Nursing Curriculum Manager and curriculum headquarters staff to develop the nursing board's application for new programs and attend the hearing, recruit nursing staff and support new program chairperson.
- Assist in organizing the state nursing board's site visits (both institutes and clinicals as required).
- Maintain monthly reports and invoices.
- Interact with designated college directors for development of clinical learning labs, the nursing office and teaching facilities.
- Execute the Associate of Science in nursing Program Implementation Guide.
- Develop Clinical Experience Sites including contacting health care agency's nursing education departments, obtaining student nursing guidelines and polices for each clinical agency and assist in the negotiating and obtaining of contracts and/or letters of support for ITT Technical Institute campuses.
Required Skills:
- Master of Science in Nursing Degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education required, with a doctorate in nursing or a related field preferred.
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in good standing and eligibility for licensure in the state.
- Minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in field of specialty and 2 years of related teaching experience in a post-secondary accredited institution.
- Previous supervisory and teaching experience required.
- Working knowledge of state boards of Nursing applications and national nursing accreditation processes strongly preferred.
- Nursing education administration experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office, Internet, and course management software.
- Demonstrated creative, innovative and problem solving skills.
