OCS Support Specialist

Scope of Work:

Installation and implementation of a small (4 server) OCS 2007 R2 system:

  • Checking the software/hardware requirements for the different OCS server roles.
  • Installation and configuration of the OCS 2007 Application, new server roles and establishing the connectivity between the existing OCS R1 platform and the new server role(s).

Maintaining OCS R1 (~1300 users) and R2 servers (100 users) (5 X 8 support – Monday to Friday 9-5 EST), but with the ability to work outside of these hours when required (patching, loading etc.):

  • Checking and reacting / resolving system performance through MOM alerts and warnings.
  • Performing routine activities such as patching, configuration, run reports & user backup and recovery.
  • Enable/disable OCS users.
  • Troubleshoot end-user and system-wide issues. This might require working with the other telecom groups with the client to handle interoperability issues between the OCS servers and switches (CS1K/CS2K).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3-4 years of experience in windows server environment. This includes but not limited to Windows 2003, Active Directory, DNS and Exchange 2007 (Certification preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience working in a VoIP environment handling support and operations responsibilities.
  • 1+ years of experience in OCS 2007 R1 or R2 (Certification required).
  • Very good knowledge of Windows 2003 and Active Directory
  • Very good knowledge of VoIP protocols such as: VoIP, RTP, RTCP.
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Unified Communication (UC) platform (mandatory) and Unified Messaging (UM) – preferred.
  • MCSE / MCSA 2003 – preferred
  • Familiarity with PKI - preferred
