Biological Therapy Core Facility
The Biological Therapy Core Facility at Siteman Cancer Center/Washington University School of Medicine seeks an Operations Director to provide operational leadership of the GMP facility.
Qualified candidates will be established leaders in the development and operation of GMP facilities with extensive knowledge of cGMP lab procedures and related regulatory issues. A track record of moving research into a GMP lab in preparation for IND submission and clinical trials is required.
Outstanding interpersonal skills are essential as the Operations Director will collaborate with, and meet the needs of, a variety of researchers while maintaining and promoting adherence to regulations and protocols.
The Operations Director will have experience in developing educational programs and conducting training for facility staff, auxiliary personnel, and institutional leaders in cGMP procedures. Possessing excellent administrative skills in budgeting, rate-setting and financial management is essential.
A Master degree in a scientific field is required as is a minimum of five years of leadership experience in a GMP facility; advanced certification in laboratory medicine is strongly preferred.
The 2,615-square-foot Biological Therapy Core Facility includes six manufacturing rooms capable of working independently on different projects in a C 10,000 environment and provides researchers at Washington University School of Medicine the appropriate environment to engineer and manipulate cells.
