We have an immediate need for a ORACLE PRODUCTION DBA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We need people with solid operational skills. We are NOT looking for people that are good at writing stored procedures, and doing database designs. We need people with good working knowledge of database operations such as capacity planning and management (both from disk and CPU usage), backup/recovery considerations, performance & tuning (both at SQL and at system level), software installations, patch applications, security planning and setups, to name a few. Anyone that worked in a regulated environment, who understands the demand of following strict procedures is a definite plus.
This consultant will support large enterprise environment with specific skills Oracle Database Administration. Extensive experience, preferably more than 5 years, and Oracle (v7-v11) database administration in large enterprises including support tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is a must. Knowledge in SQL Server (2000 and 2005) and Microsoft Office Manager (MOM) is a plus. Previous experience in supporting SAN and NAS environments using Network Appliance and EMC storage is also required as well as support of clustered environments using VERITAS. Experience in a regulated (SOX & GXP) industry is preferred. Must be able to work autonomously, have the ability to provide advice to internal infrastructure colleagues such as UNIX, Windows and Storage Administrators as well as Application Support Administrators. The consultant will be required to provide day-to-day operational support, including on-call duties, and to provide project support as needed. Tasks include logical (application) and physical (system) DBA work. Knowledge FDA Regulations and good documentation practices is a plus.
