A leading Gulf-South company with interests in stevedoring, terminal operations and warehousing throughout the Gulf Region is seeking an office manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; controlling correspondence; designing filing systems; assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
- Provides assistance and guidance with new and efficient methods of record keeping.
- Implements office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments.
- Keeps management informed by reviewing employee performance and dedication to current position held by the employee.
- Maintains office staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains office staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Completes and maintains USDA and export documents.
Skills/Qualifications:
Human Resources and office management experience required. Skills should include good communication, staffing, managing processes, supervision, developing standards, promoting process improvement, inventory control, reporting skills. Experience with USDA regulations and export documentation is required.
