Patient Account Representative - Medical
About the Job
Medical office in Grapevine area is seeking a Patient Account Representative with 3+ years prior experience with medical billing and collections for a long term temporary job.
Patient Account Representative will be responsible for collecting on all accounts to obtain reimbursement of all charges generated from patient treatment, as permissible by contract or law. Must have a high school diploma and some college course-work is also preferred. Great computer skills are required! Must be able to communicate courteously, pleasantly, and effectively with patients and CSRs over the telephone and in person. Good oral and written communication skills are essential. Account Rep is required to take direction and then establish priorities to meet deadlines. Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Some responsibilities include: Maintain patient accounts as directed by billing manager; perform all collection and billing activities; completion of 35-60 account calls per day; maintain Alpha tickler "unpaid" claims folder per week; return patient "billing" questions daily; monitoring claims effectively and efficiently through insurance websites, automated service, and/or through customer service representatives; document all calls and account action performed; maintain OSHA and HIPPA compliance; other duties as assigned.
