SUMMARY: The Site Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the managed facility’s advertising production operations. The Site Manager is the key leader for the facility and has overall accountability for ensuring each project will meet the client’s expectations. This position will direct the efforts of the assigned production staff and coordinate activities between the client and the Vertis remote locations to ensure projects are completed timely and accurately. This position will also be responsible for coordinating development and integration of current and future software systems, including coding of select software solutions. This position plays an essential role in developing and maintaining effective client relations and meeting all client and Vertis expectations. RESPONSIBILITIES - Analysis and integration of software solutions at Client location and Vertis environments, either internally or using external Vertis resources.
- Provide direction, professional leadership and training to assigned staff to promote high performance and succession planning.
- Communicate with client, production managers and hub locations to ensure each project is completed timely, accurately and of high quality and coordinate activities amongst all parties.
- Serve as liaison between sales and customer service/ production teams to advise on best practices, support in the decision making process related to work performed and to receive work from client.
- Attend client meetings as required.
- Create and promote a team oriented environment that is focused on client needs.
Required Skills
REQUIREMENTS (Specific knowledge, skills, education and abilities): - 5 years experience in digital prepress environment
- 5 years experience (cumulative) with the following software languages or technical skills
- Unix/Linux administration
- Windows system administration
- Programming in: Java, MVC Framework, Spring Framework, Apache Tomcat, PHP, Javascript, and HTML, JDBC, MS SQL and MySQL, PERL and shell scripting, VB scripting, Experience in technical writin, Other experience such as CVS/Subversion, Applescipting, C/C++ and .Net a plus.
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Possess 2 years managerial experience with proven success in providing professional leadership, training, development and day to day instruction to staff
- Exemplary knowledge of workflow implementations related to prepress digital workflow
- Understanding of profit and loss statements
- Understanding of desktop production software including QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Distiller and FileMaker Pro using a Mac computer
