Reporting
to the Guest-Tek’s Director of NOC & Global Support this position will be
responsible for providing on-site technical support, responding to
software/hardware issues and configuring and maintaining network systems.



 



Responsibilities:






  • Diagnose
    and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Configure,
    install, repair and maintain data, voice and video systems
  • Troubleshoot networking
    equipment on customer premises
  • Identify and escalate
    situations requiring urgent attention
  • Documenting the details of an
    issue, troubleshooting steps taken and solutions
  • Represent Guest-Tek onsite and
    ensure customer satisfaction with Guest-Tek products and services
  • Escalated on-site resource for
    VIP guests
  • Ongoing staff training for the
    system




 



Qualifications: 



 



  • Possess a degree in Applied
    Information Technology from a technical College or equivalent
  • 2 - 3 years experience in a
    similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of switched
    Ethernet, Internet connection methods, and networking
  • Good working knowledge of
    Linux, Switched, DSL, and WiFi networking equipment
  • Experience in troubleshooting
    software and hardware
  • Cabling knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal
    communication skills
  • Strong documentation and
    troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in
    customer service
  • A trustworthy individual able
    to work independently and with limited supervision


 



Working Conditions:



 



  • Part-time position for
    approximately 20 hours a week – 2 positions (8:00 – 12:00) and (16:00 –
    20:00)
  • Technician will be on-call
    within the time period not on site. Response time will be with-in two hours
  • Position will be based at
    customer hotel site
  • Occasional travel may be
    required
