ATG OnDemand Services is looking to hire an OnDemand Developer for its Operations team in Washington DC.
This is an advanced position that involves hands on work in a dynamic
professional environment with ATG technology, ATG code, ATG customers,
and a team of experienced ATG engineers. This position entails
extensive exposure to eCommerce enterprise application environments,
application servers, and other 3rd party technologies. Applicants who
have a strong technical troubleshooting, computer science background
and a drive to work with code and customers are encouraged to apply.



Responsibilities:


  • Work
    directly with ATG products, ATG code, and ATG customers in order to
    resolve live customer issues in high-pressure situations.

  • Work
    closely with a team of ATG Services engineers and experienced
    developers to resolve customer issues or fulfill enhancement requests.

  • Troubleshoot and find resolutions to complex technical problems reported by ATG customers. 

  • Fix software bugs and deliver fixes or patches to customers. 

  • Incorporate findings into ATG OnDemand Best Practices methodology.

  • Mentor and provide support to ATG OnDemand Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support resources.


 

Requirements:



  • IT background in development, quality assurance, consulting, or technical support for enterprise software.

  • Excellent
    troubleshooting skills, experience debugging and tracing problems in
    live/deployed ATG applications. Especially in high pressure and quick
    turn-around situations. 

  • Strong programming background is
    required, including direct experience in Java, J2EE applications, and a
    good understanding of software and production systems for the
    enterprise.

  • Experience and working knowledge in ATG (2007.x,
    9.x preferred), JBoss Application Server, Apache, Oracle and Linux
    (command-line familiarity).

  • Basic Networking experience – working understanding of Load Balancers, TCP/IP, firewalls, proxy servers

  • Must exhibit equanimity and poise under the pressure of solving a real time customer support issue. 

  • Self-motivated and driven, able to solve problems either individually or with a small team of OD Developers.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.


 

Preferred Skills:



  • Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and JDBC.

  • Ability to create load and performance testing scripts using JMeter, LoadRunner.

  • Systems Integration Experience.

  • Performance Tuning Experience (JVM tuning).

  • Experience interfacing with both customers’ non-technical business owners and highly experienced IT staff.

  • Ability to create scripts (perl, bash) and tools.
