An exciting opportunity exists for the right individual to join our Support Services Department in Philadelphia, PA. This position, OnSite AV Technician, requires analytical skills, trouble shooting skills, and strong interpersonal skills The Site AV Technician has the responsibility for the day to day AV operations for a major conference center for the Whitlock Group. Operations include: operating AV, projection and lighting equipment, data and networking, power distribution, and telephony. The OnSite AV Technician provides client support for event attendees and building staff. This position will also be responsible for properly escalating problems and making recommendations for repairs and upgrade. Must complete a Daily Work Report and other documentation as required.

The successful candidate must maintain a clean background record and have the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include after hours and weekend support. Some travel may be involved.



Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in audiovisual or related field 
  • Minimum of 1 years in a Conference Center or Hotel environment
  • Preferably college graduate or similar technical trade school 
  • Exposure as operating technician for live audiovisual special events.  Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to lead a team of technicians 
  • Solid technical background that includes work with LCD projectors, control systems, cameras, live audio, basic stage lighting design, and recording and archiving of content 
  • Good equipment troubleshooting skills 
  • Understanding or willingness to learn wiring diagrams 
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, Live Meeting and scheduling software 
  • Strong Troubleshooting and Problem solving skills
  • Intermediate understanding of IP based systems, computer setup, networking and computer hardware related issues 
  • Basic knowledge of AV integration and installation
