The Jed
Foundation, the leading nonprofit working to prevent suicide and reduce emotional
distress among college students, has an exciting opportunity for an energetic
and detail-oriented professional to manage programs around our innovative
online and interactive programs. The Jed
Foundation’s online properties include www.jedfoundation.org;
www.ulifeline.org,
a resource for students that includes a network of nearly 1500 colleges; www.halfofus.com,
the online component of our partnership with mtvU, MTV’s college network; and
presences on sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
The
right individual will have a strong strategic vision, excellent communication/marketing
skills and the ability to carry out the tactical components of creating,
maintaining, expanding and promoting online properties designed to support
students, provide resources for parents and campus professionals, and attract
funders and advocates to The Jed Foundation’s work.
Candidates
should be energetic, self-starters who have strong project management skills,
excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and significant
experience with online and interactive programs and campaigns.

Experience
working in online/interactive programs and communications in agency, corporate
or nonprofit environment
·
Experience
managing the development of complex web properties and maintaining sites
through a CMS.
·
A
strong understanding of the social networks and online destinations popular
with today’s college students including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
·
Experience
managing multiple projects or programs simultaneously
·
Supervisory
and staff management experience on a project basis
·
Good
presentation and interpersonal skills
·
Excellent
written communication skills
·
Knowledge
of health and/or mental health a plus
·
Self-starter,
good at working independently and with a team
·
Bachelor’s
degree preferred
