Job Summary


Provide financial accounting and business analysis to support operations.  Support strategic and cost savings initiatives by providing accounting and analytical analysis for initiatives.  Lead the annual budgeting planning process, budget updating, monthly financial closing and assessment, for assigned areas of responsibility.  Perform special projects as assigned by management.


 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities



  • Provide financial accounting and analysis to support initiatives.
  • Perform cost center accounting and analysis; prepare variance analysis versus plan and forecast.
  • Review, analyze and establish monthly outbound customer accruals based upon general ledger accounts, SAP and vendor reports.
  • Conduct month end close activities, including preparing journal entries, monthly results analysis, financial reporting and presenting financial results to Department Managers, Vice Presidents and CFO.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly account reconciliations.
  • Prepare other financial reporting, trend analysis and financial modeling as requested.
  • Perform financial analysis to support strategic decision making process.
  • Lead annual budget process; establish timelines, develop budget templates for data input from assigned cost centers, identify issues, make appropriate recommendations and improve processes to align financials with operations for better cost containment.
  • Lead and prepare monthly latest estimates and quarterly budget revisions.
  • Understand and monitor payment process to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Review and maintain general ledger accounts.  
  • Assist in and coordinate annual audits pertaining to accounts.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to evaluate performance.

 


Education and Experience Profile


An equivalent combination of:



  • A four year bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA or MBA preferred and;
  • 5 - 7 years of financial accounting and analysis required.

 


Required Skills




  • Knowledge of financial accounting and past experience in manufacturing or distribution preferred


  • Individual must be well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Is an accomplished user Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point),


  • Extensive SAP system user experience is required. 


  • Has the knowledge and skills to extract data, analyze data, interpret data, and effectively communicate findings to management for decision making.
