Objective Mid-West firm is looking for a Legal Department Manager with a ‘hands on’ management style. This ideal candidate knows how to direct, motivate, and communicate with subordinates. The Legal Department Manager must adopt and view the firm’s vision of success as his/her own, and act on the vision accordingly. This individual must be ready and willing to make a difference by setting challenging goals for his/her department and ensuring that those goals are achieved. An attitude of pride, accountability, and ownership is essential. This individual reports directly to the Director of Operations. Essential Functions: · Assesses existing process flows and redesigns processes to meet firm objectives · Identifies performance metrics, establishes benchmarks and manages implementation · Possesses strong problem solving skills; seeks solutions to resolve issues and challenges · Anticipates and meets client needs in a timely manner · Makes practical and routine decisions daily · Exchanges information in a timely manner · Listens, understands, and uses confidential information with discretion · Manages three supervisors and staff of 30-40 · Experienced with managing staff and production in remote locations · Potential Regional Office responsibility · Identifies upcoming staffing needs and prepares for those needs · Communicates efficiently with upper management as well as subordinates through oral and written communications · Acts as a lead in implementing change · Knows what each position that he/she oversees entails · Possesses an in-depth knowledge of the court system and suit process · Effectively manages a high volume of accounts in WIPS, court calls, etc. · Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· BA/BS from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
· 5+ years office/legal experience is a plus
· Extensive managerial experience
· Must pass a cognitive skill test administered at the time of the interview
· Must pass FDCPA class and all relevant state laws, rules and regulations
· Knowledge of MS Office (knowledge of CUBS collection program a plus)
· Meets standard fidelity bonding requirements
