DESCRIPTION: This company is a dynamic supplier to institutional, retail and governmental customers for pre-packaged foods. The company is stable and growing with multiple plant sites. This is a new plant start-up focused on commercial products that will be packaged in bowls or trays. This company has a strong reputation for quality and delivery of it’s product line. They are seeking a key team player in a new position that will direct, manage and coordinate all Production activities at this new location.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility will be leading and managing the activities at this location. This position will provide leadership to Operations through Managers, Supervisors and staff. Important objectives are team building, problem-solving, organization, process development and cost containment /reduction. Position will report directly to the Vice President and will responsible for communications, budgets, and development of Business plans. You will be involved with developing guidelines for establishing a new production line with additional lines to follow. You will be responsible for Production and Maintenance with maximum “up time” and productivity as primary goals. As Operations Manager, you will exhibit good judgement, integrity, ingenuity, and personal professionalism.
REQUIREMENTS: The Company requires a minimum four-year BS degree. Minimum 5 years related experience in food packaging operations. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background in processing and preparations of food products. Experience with retort packaging is a must have. Previous Supervisory experience is required. The start-up will have approximately 40 hourly workers with rapid growth as Production ramps up. You must manage compliance with State and Federal regulations and be familiar with FDA and FSIS regulations. Candidates must be self-motivated with very strong documented management experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to gain the cooperation and confidence of others are required. The ability to think on your feet and rapidly adjust to changing priorities is necessary. Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire confidence and trust are essential. Strong documentation skills and reporting skills are required.
DESIRED: Desirable attributes include Certifications or Licenses especially related to thermal processing. Additional experience levels are desirable.
