Operations Manager - Adhesives

We are currently looking to add to staff an Operations Manager.  This person will be responsible for the effective organization, production planning and operation of adhesive manufacturing. You will Coach, train, motivate, supervise and plan the labor required to manufacture a variety of formulated adhesive products and packaging.  Additionally, you will be responsible for Optimizing the packaging and delivery of quality products per customer requirements.  Decisions and actions are conducted with an immediate sense of urgency based on customer requirements and expectations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Improving and assuring the quality of adhesive products by organizing work flow, developing new procedures, processes, and specifying new equipment.  Monitor and train human resources to enhance quality conscious work ethic.

• Maintaining ISO 9001 certification by effective employee training and monitoring of processes and documentation.

• Planning and expediting production to achieve on time shipments.

• Ensuring the proper use and maintenance of existing and new equipment,

• Improving safety and efficiency.

• Planning and developing the use of available labor and equipment to continuously improve

      efficiency, reduce labor usage, improve quality, and enhance safety.

• Minimizing packaging and labeling defects through the implementing of procedures, new equipment, monitoring human resources, and incoming inspection of components.

• Investigating and resolving customer complaint issues in conjunction with other functional areas.

• Reducing rework and scrap according to company objectives.

• Maintaining inventory levels in accordance with delivery needs and company objectives.

• Developing metrics to analyze manufacturing efficiencies and driving continuous improvements.

• Ensuring the safety of all production employees.

• Implementing and maintaining 6S program to ensure a clean and efficient work environment.

EDUCATION/EXP:

B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry desired

5 years min. Plant management experience in a chemical batch environment

SKILLS:

Exp with ISO-9001, Six Sigma, SPC, Root cause analysis, capital planning, budgeting and finance
