Operations Manager
MUST HAVE PORK EXPERIENCE
Our client, a leader in the Meat Processing Industry, is currently looking for an Operations Manager for their facility in the South.The Qualified Operations Manager will have at least 5-10 years production management in a Pork Processing facility, and a Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.The individual is 2ndin charge at the plant, reporting to the Plant Manager.Candidates applying must have Pork Kill, Slaughter, Cut or Conversionexperience – Further Processing/RTE experience will NOT be considered! Key Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the efficient Operations of all company products and processes, ensuring that product quality, employee safety, and food safety standards, as well as regulatory requirements, are met or exceeded.
-Manages employees to optimize productivity, supports good manufacturing practices (GMPs) including the proper use of equipment and materials, promotes training and development, minimizes turnover, and ensures a reliable and agile labor force.Achievement of labor budget and turnover metrics.
-Use of statistical problem solving methods and other quality tools to identify opportunities to make process improvements.
-Work with the Plant Manager and team in identifying potential capital improvements assisting with analysis and justification.
-Executes the production schedule developed by the Master Scheduler to support the highest levels of customer service and production efficiency. Ensures case fill and order fill metrics are exceeded or met.Provides feedback and input to support schedule adherence.
-Responsible to monitor and manage production costs associated with yield optimization; prep, production, and packaging waste, supply costs, and utilities.
Qualifications:
-7-10 years Management experience within a Pork Processing facility.
-Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
-5-7 years recent experience in Kill/Slaughter, Cut, or Conversion of Pork.
-High Volume plant experience (1,000+ people)
-Implementation of GMP’s
-Lean Manufacturing implementation
-Continuous Improvement implementation
-Solid Communication Skills
