This publicly traded US manufacturer aggressively drives both organic growth and via acquisition to expand its international and North American presence. Corporate leadership focuses on Lean/TPS initiatives with a mission to achieve world-class deployment and execution. This site generates $40+ mil in revenues and due to a recent promotion seeks an Operations Manager. The role directs all site operations activities including production, materials/planning, facilities and maintenance, operations excellence, and customer service activities. This role is a 12-18 month developmental role, geared to train/mentor Plant Management talent for more than 50+ manufacturing sites in worldwide locations.
Our client requires an Engineering Bachelors degree and MBA. Experience must include at least 5 years prior manufacturing leadership derived from a strong lean culture. Lean experience must include prior leadership of kaizen events involving lean tools such as visual factory, SMED, kanbans, standardized work, and error-proofing. Potential candidates must have at least four years experience leading production professionals, and prior leadership experience of at least one additional function such as supply chain, manufacturing engineering, quality, or operations excellence. Experience with a lower volume, high mix manufacturing environment is critical. Communication, staff development, policy deployment, and proven team leadership capabilities are paramount for success and advancement.
