Manager, Operations


 


Directs and coordinates department activities. Responsibilities include: ·


·         Assists with development of organization related to policies, practices, and attainment of operating goals.


·         Manages the operating activities of a variety of functional departments.


·         Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives, and confers with managers/supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities such as new commitments, status of work in progress and problems encountered.


·         Assigns or delegates responsibility for specified work or functional activities and disseminates policy to supervisors.


·         Gives work direction, resolves problems, prepares schedules and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work.


·         Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy.


·         Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares budget.


·         Prepares reports and records on department activities for management.


·         Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices


·         May inititate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge or transfer.


 



  • Bachelors required or 10+ years experience in a production position.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies preferred.

 



  • Interprets and directs original solutions to a broad range of administrative and/or managerial issues.

  • Conceive, plan, and execute projects related to the strategic needs of the company.

  • Anticipates, recognizes and resolves issues.

  • Evaluates and documents company procedures.

 



  • Develops and implements plans to achieve goals and objectives for a broad range of administrative and/or technical people and/or activities. 

  • Provides continuous flow of complex information and work results to higher levels.

  • Decisions and actions have a multi-year impact on the company success.

  • Translates strategic needs of the company into executable long-range programs and projects.

 



  • Knowledge must address diverse and difficult problems or situations. 

  • Requires experience to integrate activities across multiple functions for the corporation.

  • Detail oriented, project management experience a plus.

 


 



  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

 


 



  • Normal degree of physical effort in typical office environment with comfortable, constant temperatures and absence of objectionable elements. 

  • May be subject to interruptions.

  • Required to work computer.

  • Sitting---over 95%; close vision---over 95%; lifting---under 10 lbs.
