Operations Manager
Zions Bancorporation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our Exceptions & Branch Support departments.
This position is responsible for creating an environment of enthusiasm, self value and empowerment for each member of the team. In addition the position is responsible for inspiring innovation, delivering reliable cost effective products and services, and focusing on and partnering with the customer to meet all of their current and future needs.
- Manages staff, sets work schedules, allocates and monitors work.
- Has authority concerning staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendation and terminations.
- Manages staff to provide efficient and effective service to customers.
- Reviews and analyzes existing procedures and recommends changes when necessary to make sure area is efficient.
- Responsible for area budget and/or budgeting process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Requires a College degree--prefer Bachelors degree, Masters degree a plus.
- 6+ years experience in banking, departmental operations or supervision and/or management of departmental operational functions. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications. Prefer previous experience in banking or other financial institution.
- Prefer 5+ years experience in payment processing.
- Prefer 5+ years of management/leadership experience in an operations role.
- Must have knowledge of exception and return handling and advanced knowledge of departmental practices, principles, applications, methods, policy and procedures.
- Must have process improvement experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma or other methodologies.
- Requires strong interpersonal, problem resolution and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have strong financial skills including analysis skill for decision making and explaining variances, and experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Must have strong industry knowledge. Prefer current participation in payment industry groups.
- Good PC skills and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of, and capability to do the work of the group.
- Ability to set and maintain high quality work standards.
- Supervisory skills required.
