Located in Addison, Texas, Aerospace Insurance Managers, Inc. (AIM) is a subsidiary of Hallmark Financial Services, Inc. Aerospace Insurance Managers markets and underwrites small aircraft and airport exposures. Products are distributed through a small number of aviation specialty producers and offer in 47 states.
The Operations Manager manages and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in a variety of Operations positions by performing the following duties.
- Direct responsibilities of assigned organization and Operations staff positions to accomplish business objectives for the following areas; Underwriting Support, Policy Services and Mail Room services.
- Manage the daily business workflow; work with all employees to ensure procedures are properly documented, service expectations are properly communicated and that staffing schedules are maintained to achieve the established service standards.
- Issues written and oral instructions consistent with the chief operating officer’s policies and objectives and ensures their execution.
- Responsible for ensuring employees are properly trained and adhere to established process and procedures. Identifies and organizes cross training efforts.
- Regularly review processes and modify workflow and procedures to improve efficiencies.
- Provides input and recommendations for system requirements and enhancements to IT on a regular basis.
- Communicate with Agents and Underwriting in an effort to prevent and/or resolve service related issues.
- Coordinate the audit of monthly transactions processed by the Policy Services department prior to billing download to facilitate the accuracy of the monthly agent statements.
- Coordinate the submission of state filing requests to the Home Office Compliance department.
- Ensure effective controls to support operational efficiencies both internally and externally, including automation.
- Resolve conflicts and facilitate change in the structure of the Operations group to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to problems and opportunities.
- Work closely with other department managers to identify, develop and implement practices to improve overall quality and results.
- Communicate maintenance needs of facilities with building management. Coordinate facility enhancements and/or relocation with appropriate parties.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; four or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior property/casualty insurance industry experience is required, with a preference for aviation insurance.
· Solid experience in management of an Operations unit; strong knowledge of financial and operational levels
· Detail oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job duties
· Ability to understand business needs and translate into system requirements for communications to others
· Ability to analyze and problem solve, working closely with others to coordinate and complete projects
· Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
