Job Function:


This position is the primary point of contact for tasks related to Solutions Delivery & Support projects which include eQMS systems integration and specialized application development. The Operations/Resource Manager keeps the cross-functional Solutions Delivery & Support team on task and target as well as manage the overall budget of the department.  This position works directly with internal and external resources including Solutions Delivery & Support, Product Management, Sparta Systems, Inc. clients, and strategic partners to ensure projects are properly scheduled and staffed.


 Duties and Responsibilities               


             1.       Budget and business planning, compensation planning.


2.       Provide input to the development of resource plans and manages the tactical and strategic resource plans for the department.


3.       Assign consulting staff to specific client engagement projects with a goal of effectively balancing resource utilization needs with planning targets, skills allocation, utilization and staffing needs. 


4.       Work closely with the Solutions Delivery Managers to forecast current and future staffing needs, and related revenue, utilization and profitability projections for all projects within the company. 


5.       Manage all resource requests. Identify those that can be filled internally, those that will be outsourced and those for which we will recruit new employees. 


6.       Manage "bench time" for Solutions Delivery Analysts in between engagements.


7.       Assist the management team in maintaining optimal margin by fulfilling delivery project resource requirements while adhering to utilization forecasts.


8.       Manage resource allocation across multiple projects including tracking resource bandwidth and forecasting future availability for scheduling new projects.


9.       Maintain a current information source of resource skill sets, availability, schedules, and delivery restrictions to assist in rapid identification and fulfillment of delivery resources.


10.   Utilization review, analysis and reporting. Includes weekly look-back reporting.


11.   Coordinates and communicates with other managers to leverage resources and discuss solutions to problems. Develops processes for leveraging and using resources to meet customer needs.


12.   Coordinates with sales operations management to develop anaual/quarterly/monthly operational budgets and revenue forecasts.


13.   Performes  trending and analysis of historical data working with finance and sales.


14.   Track actual against forecast and report to management on a weekly basis.


15.   Drive continuous process improvement within areas of functional responsibility, and coordinate with other managers and teams to drive improvements in cross-functional projects.


16.   Manage multiple projects with competing priorities.


17.   Run status meetings, track action items, facilitate issue resolution and provide weekly management status reports.


 


 


Qualifications:


1.       5+ years experience


2.       3+ years experience in a software and/or technology services company preferred.


3.       BA/BS preferably in computer science, management information systems, or realted field.


4.       Experience working with customer technology and support requirements.


5.       Excellent logical, presentation, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.


6.       Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas in person, over the telephone, and in written correspondence (email, letters, proposals and agreements).


7.       Experience developing staff utilization and forecasting models and maintaining them over time.


8.       Thorough understanding of business drivers including utilization, labor mix, contract types, etc.


9.       Ability to perform ad hoc analysis on changing business drivers and recommend strategies to optimize resource utilization.


10.   Experience with working in a consulting environment providing clients with


implementation services is desired.


11.   Must be willing and able to travel periodically.


12.   Must enjoy working with diverse groups of people.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


1.       Strong Excel, PowerPoint  & other MS software experience.
