Honeywell's Sensing & Control business has a new opportunity at the Columbus, Ohio, facility as Value Stream/Operations Leader.  In this position, you will provide leadership for value stream within Test and Measurement's Columbus operational structure, reporting directly to the plant manager.
 
Sensing and Control's Test and Measurement business is a highly specialized product line.  Our success includes more than 50 years of success in applications including:
 
-          Off-shore and on land oilfield applications - oil and gas sensor products are built  tough to give accuracy, reliability, and robustness needed in many of the world's harshest environments.
-          Aerospace applications - both customized and current products, supporting landing systems, gears, and doors, hook load sensors for helicopters, and pilot stick, wheel and petals for on-board black box.
 
You will have primary responsibility and ownership of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost performance within the designated value stream.  In this role, you will have solid-line responsibility for production, manufacturing engineering, and planners, and buyers. Because fluency and expertise in all production and support disciplines is core to this role, it is expected that successful candidates could be found in supervision, engineering, planning, and other factory support areas.
 
The position represents a strong developmental path into larger leadership roles in the future, including Plant Manager.
 
Job Responsibilities:



• Solid-line leadership responsibility for production direct labor employees, manufacturing engineer(s), planners, buyers within a strategic product/service value stream. Dotted-line leadership responsibility for a quality engineer(s).

• Drive Honeywell Operating System (HOS) activities through direct leadership and implementation of lean initiatives and use of Six Sigma tools. Develop strong base of 5S, visual management, and standard work within their value stream.

• Develop and deliver on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and value stream specific metric improvements.

• Ownership of the value stream performance, from raw material & components through delivery to customer.

• Accountable for performance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.

• Manage value stream variable cost spending budgets to AOP targets (factory supplies, services, MRO, packaging, etc.)

• Drive total cost productivity through their value streams through scrap and rework reduction, and other capital budget improvement programs.

• Manage staffing to support profitable growth and achievement of cost/productivity metrics

• Provide for the personal and professional development of their entire value stream to meet the current and future challenges of the business

• Develop strong liaison with cross-functional groups within a matrix organization: Human Resources, Inside Sales, Customer Care, Finance, IT, and product management


 
 


Basic Qualifications:




-          Minimum of 6 years of management or leadership experience in operations support disciplines.
-          Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management or 5 years of manufacturing or operations experience required.
-          U.S. citizen or permanent resident status as required by government contracts.


Preferred Qualifications:
 
- Advanced degree in engineering, operations or business or similar field is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of factory processes including engineering/technical support, production planning, staffing to meet delivery requirements

- Ability to lead change and establish operational metrics/key indicators for process control, communication and performance improvement

- Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities, make sound decisions and work effectively in a highly technical, team environment

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
