Summary of Responsibilities: The person in this role must support all Clinical Director initiatives, both verbally and behaviorally. This person will also operate as a Clinical Lead for assigned physician and, if unable to personally act in that role, is responsible for insuring that assigned physician as appropriate Clinical Lead at all times. Clinical Supervisors will be assigned a Pod or Satellite Office(s)
Essential Job Functions
Clinical Supervisors assist in and/or are responsible for mentoring and training assigned team members whose performance is below clinic standards and expectations. Clinical Supervisors are responsible for effectively working with other teams, both administrative and Optical to insure the Clinic runs smoothly and patients are handled expertly.
- Assist with coordination of physicians/optometrists work flow on a daily basis where they are assigned and work collaboratively with the other Clinical Supervisors to coordinate staff resources based on skills, experience and availability.
- Contribute to and/or perform clinical skills evaluations, coordinating with Clinical Educator and Clinical Director.
- Responsible for supporting and assisting Clinical Director with all clinical training, including but not limited to, new hire training, internal transitioning, mentoring current staff, and providing skills assessments.
- Assist in resolution of patient concerns and complaints
- Serve as a representative for assigned sites or pods.
- Responsible for keeping education and training up to date in order to provide excellent and educated patient care.
- Participate in all Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Lead meetings, taking part in chairing at least one meeting annually.
- Work closely with site manager/direct supervisor and HR and Clinical Director to resolve personnel concerns and/or issues for assigned clinical staff.
- Assist with clinical new hire recruiting/interview processes as directed by Clinical Director.
- Responsible for modeling support of Clinical Director in all decisions, directions, actions, and communications to clinical staff.
- Clinical Supervisors must be able to efficiently juggle supervisory and clinical lead responsibilities and be effective in both roles, without harming clinical flow of assigned physician.
- Is responsible for assigned clinical employees consistently following all Practice, administrative, and clinical policies and procedures
- Responsible for suggesting to Clinical Director and assisting Clinical Director with implementing, as necessary, clinical policies and processes that will increase patient satisfaction and clinic efficiencies.
- Is responsible for personally consistently following all Practice, administrative, and clinical policies and procedures.
- Is responsible for insuring assigned clinical employees follow companies time and attendance policies.
- Must deliver superior service to physicians, employees, and patients.
- Must be a motivator who remains positive and upbeat and has the ability to encourage area team members. Must be a role model with a positive, professional attitude who is competent, efficient, and exhibits exemplary performance of technical skills and patient care.

- Clinical Supervisors should aim for clinical excellence and should set the tone for their assigned team.
- Clinical Supervisors are responsible for keeping morale high and attitudes positive in the clinical and Practice setting.
- Must be willing to work overtime or outside normal clinic hours when needed.

Performing simple eye exams
- Assisting with eye surgery
- Explaining diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients
- Refracting, A-Scans, and topography a must.
- Assist with all aspect of patient work up

Minimum Education Requirements
- Completion of an ophthalmic technician program AND five years of ophthalmic experience AND certification appropriate for the clinical specialty; Certified Ophthalmic Tech OR equivalent education/experience
