C2C is fine as long as the candidate is willing to convert to permanent after 4 months AND we need the candidates to be US Citizens, Green Card holder, or EAD card holder because the client does not offer sponsorship.

Description:

Drives consistent operations of production and development databases for the company. Installs and tests database software, patches, and DBA support tools. Designs, builds, and implements new databases. Manage overall database security, users and roles, backup and recovery, data import/export, and performance monitoring. Administers the coding, testing and quality assurance of database descriptions for any new databases or changes to existing databases. Provides leadership and mentoring of junior team members for DBA support and development activities.

Designs logical and physical databases or reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes to be made affect physical database size, performance, etc.

Codes or reviews database descriptions and specifies identifiers of database to database management system or directs others in coding database descriptions.

Specifies user access level for each segment of one or more data items such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data.

Manages high availability replication processing, queues, and backlogs to avoid adverse production impact.

Tests database changes and refines changes to database.

Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance such as distribution of records and amount of available memory.

Consults with engineers, architects, and managers to make changes to database management system.

Performs quality assurance on database changes before implementation.

Confers with co-workers to determine impact of database changes on other systems.

Performs various performance tuning activities such as initialization parameters, hints/profiles, indexes, partitions, etc.

Participates in long term planning and strategic initiatives with management.

5-7 years relevant experience in two or more of the following areas: database administration/design/development, high availability RAC and/or HACMP, replication implementation and support, performance tuning and testing experience.

**Must be willing to do on-call support (which is about every 5 weeks or so)
