Oracle DBA

About the Job

Position will work with DBA and non-DBA technical resources to provide support for standalone databases, Oracle Applications instances, and Oracle Fusion environments. Close interaction and collaboration with technical and business resources to maintain these international 7x24 implementations is a critical success factor. Outstanding communication and planning skill sets are required. Postion will have Primary and Secondary support responsibilities along with project specific assignments within these environments.

 - Cloning and refresh processes
 - Proactive environment monitoring and resolution
 - Reactive troubleshooting and issue collaboration
 - Environment Management
 - Patch and Upgrade Management
 - HA and Business Continuity planning
 - Team participant in functional solutioning

 

  • Three years experience in IT Operations, including a solid understanding of incident/problem management, change/release management, capacity/availability management, security management.
  •  Five years experience as an Oracle database or Oracle E-Business Suite database administrator, with a minimum of three years experience managing production Oracle E-Business Suite environments.
  •  Hands-on experience with 11i/R12 Application DBA tasks, including software installations, patching, upgrades, cloning, and backup. Familiarity with all AD utilities, printer configuration, application administration (concurrent managers, workflow, EM  functionality).
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, applications and database tuning, capacity planning and the ability to proactively manage and environment are a must.
  • Experience with advanced configurations and modules, including hardware load balancing, external-facing modules,  Configurator, RAC, shared storage (ASM, OCFS, Veritas), are a plus.
  •  Hand-on experience within a Solaris Operating System is a requirement, OS scripting skills are a plus.
  •  Experience with the following Oracle Fusion Middleware applications are a plus: Discoverer, Hyperion, OBIEE, Agile, Oracle Portal, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Identity Management
  •  Experience with 3rd party tools is a plus: Vertex, Evergreen, Optio, ...
  •  Developer skills, including strong PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and/or Oracle Forms are a plus.
  •  Must have proven project team skills, as well as the ability to establish relationships and manage conflicts, analyze information, communicate, listen, and negotiate.
  • The individual must have both strong written and verbal communication skills.
