Oracle Database Administrator

This local client is searching for an Oracle Database Administrator to support multi-terabyte proprietary OLTP databases utilizing JDBC in a high-throughput OLTP environment. 

The successful candidate must have experience in supporting various Oracle databases versions 10GR2 and higher.

 

Technical Skills:

 

·         In depth knowledge with Oracle Database Administration Practical experience in monitoring and tuning proprietary databases, understanding RAID/SAN storage concepts

·         Experience writing custom stored procedures, working with bulk processing concepts, and some UNIX shell scripting

·         Practical experience with RMAN backup, local and remote recovery

·         24x7 On-call Responsibility

·         Datawarehouse exposure a plus

·         Microsoft SQL Server exposure a plus

·         Succinct verbal and written communication skills with various project team players.

·         Team player. Ability to work closely Application Developers, Server Administrators, SAN Storage Administrators, Business Analysts and Operational Support Personnel.

·         Strong self-sufficiency and initiative

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 4 years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator a plus. 
  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field a plus.
