Summary:

Job Summary:
The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for database and application administration. He/She will work closely with the development, architecture and infrastructure teams
and other DBAs to design and administer databases and enterprise data warehouse and support related applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* 24*7 support for mission critical production Oracle and MS SQL databases
* Provide operational support to maintain production databases (e.g. backup/recovery, tuning,etc)
* Working closely with development team to clearly understand the business applications and databases supporting the applications
* Provide development and design support of databases to development teams involved in application development, testing and implementation.
* Logical and Physical design of the warehouse: schema design, ETL processes, data archival, etc.
* Define, implement and maintain ETL procedures and schedules to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data in the data warehouse
* Ensure the quality, consistency and security of the data warehouse systems following a defined set of procedures and policies (change control, security procedures, backups, etc).
* Assist report writers in query performance tuning as requested. Help identify inefficient queries and suggest alternatives.
* Participate in database schema design sessions with other production DBAs and solution architects to ensure seamless coordination of changes between production databases and data warehouses.
* Actively address business unit requests, clearly communicating commitments, issues, completion dates and status with the requestor and with management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Minimum five years of database administration experience with at least 3 years in data warehouse environment support
* Oracle data warehouse is required
* Oracle and MSSQL administration
* Knowledge of ETL and reporting tools (e.g. Informatica, SSRS, Cognos, etc)
* In-depth knowledge of data warehouse design concepts.
* Must have hands-on experience in data warehouse schema design and implementation
* Ability to lead technical discussions and projects in an organized manner
* Ability to drive problem resolution to root cause
* Must be able to manage time effectively and to deliver on commitments
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Must be able to operate well in a team environment and when under pressure
* Knowledge of Java platforms and middleware is plus (e.g. JDBC,Weblogic, etc)
* Knowledge of Oracle E-Business suite a plus
