Position Summary

1. The position will report to the plant manager and will have overall responsibility for outage planning and execution.

He will have budget and cost control for the outages and provide detailed reports on both schedule and fiscal

performance for all outages. Outages include:

a. Planned Outages

b. Mini Outages

c. Forced Outages

d. Coal Yard/Stack Rake Outages

2. The position oversees planned outage for over 1500MW of base load generation. Including contractors, the total

workforce engaged in an outage, that must be coordinated and supervised will exceed 1,000.

3. This position has 2 direct reports. During the actual outage, the outage control center staff reporting to the Outage

Manager will exceed 6 people.


Primary Responsibilities

1. Prepares detailed schedules for all plant outages with a combined capital and maintenance budget of over 60M

dollars.

2. Conducts all meetings related to plant outages to report on schedule details and financial reporting against

established targets.

3. Conducts lesson learned reviews to develop and track action items to completion, as appropriate, to address

problems and issues.

4. Coordinates with the Technical Manager on the implementation of plant/system projects including all capital

expenditures.

5. Responsible for all outage milestone planning and execution.

6. Works with other station leaders to develop and maintain long-range plans for installation/completion of capital

projects.


Candidate Qualifications

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.


Basic Qualifications

1. BS in Engineering Field is preferred.

2. 5 years power plant experience in the planning and execution of work/outages.

3. Scheduling experience with appropriate planning software.

4. Extensive knowledge and experience with work planning software.

5. Budget and planning experience related to power plant operation and maintenance.

6. Demonstrated written, listening and oral communication skills.

7. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.

8. Demonstrated commitment to continuous performance improvement.

9. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with external customers in difficult and sensitive situations.

10. Ability to promote teamwork and model team behavior.

11. Demonstrated PC literacy and keyboard skills.


Preferred Qualifications

1. Certification as a Project Manager.

2. Boiler Engineer experience.
