Outside Sales Associate - Des Moines

Quill is expanding into the Des Moines market and hiring 4 entry-level sales associates to identify and open new business accounts in small and medium-size organizations. This position is ideal for candidates seeking their first business career experience; and for anyone who likes to be active, meet new people every day, be rewarded for their achievements and build their business acumen.
Quill sales associates are offered compensation in the form of base salary, commission, and a comprehensive benefits program.
The Quill outside sales position is a new business development role (new account acquisition) – acquiring new customers to help grow the business. Day-to-day activities include:
Identifies new customer opportunities and the decision makers within their designated territories. Uses listening and consultative selling skills to identify customer needs and develop a first order offer. Registers customers on-site and demonstrates Quill.com ordering tool during first purchase.
Acquires customers to meet or exceed activity, sales and profit goals. Promotes and sells all Quill product categories. When necessary, draws on functional experts at Quill to sell more complex furniture, technology, and custom printing solutions.
Develops, updates and communicates business plan for territory. Works with the Manager of Outside Sales to analyze sales, profits and incremental figures to determine if changes are needed in order to accomplish established goals. Implements necessary changes, communicates acquisition plans to meet or exceed established targets.
Maintains a thorough and current knowledge of products, programs, and industry in order to identify and seize sales opportunities, as well as educate prospects on various solutions. Attends outside events when necessary to stay up-to-date on local business community and develop new business contacts.
