PCB CAD Design Engineer

About the Job

Micro Systems Engineering, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BIOTRONIK SE Co., now has an exciting opportunity available for a PCB CAD Design Engineer in beautiful Portland, Oregon.

 

Work within a multiple engineering disciplined development team to create microelectronics PCB layouts using state of the art CAD tools.   Perform PCB layouts for custom components, microelectronics, and manufacturing tooling PCB designs.   Assignments start at the concept phase and conclude with archive of the production assembly documentation. 

 

The PCB CAD Design Engineer’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform PCB level component placement and routing based on schematic, bill of materials, and physical design specifications. 
  • Work within the product development team to ensure layouts will achieve circuit performance specifications, physical design requirements, and design for manufacturability goals.
  • Create production assembly level documentation during the development phase.
  • Incorporate engineering change orders throughout the production life.
  • Create and maintain a verified component library.
  • Maintain design file revision control throughout the design process.
  • Maintain design file storage in compliance with data storage backup systems. 

 

Qualifications for the position include:

·         Technical degree (BS preferred) in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.

·         2 to 5 years PCB and/or IC package design experience. 

·         Experience completing layouts using Cadence PCB, APD, SIP design tools.

·         Experience using both 2D and 3D layout tools.

·         Experience applying CAE tools at PCB and/or IC package level.

·         Good written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to translate design inputs into functional layouts.

·         Demonstrated ability to deliver quality designs in a timely manner.
