As we continue to grow, so do our staffing needs.  World Avenue is seeking a LAMP Developer. This position is responsible for performing a variety of complex technical work in the development, preparation, and testing of computer programs by performing the following duties.

SUMMARY

Responsible for performing a variety of complex technical work in the development, preparation, and testing of computer programs by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

-         Designs complex programs and specifications.

-         Performs lifecycle maintenance.

-         Monitors and enforces coding standards and acts effectively as a team leader in these regards.

-         Resolves complex programming difficulties.

-         Prepares programs requiring a wide variety and extensive number of internal processing actions.

-         Develops analysis and design of systems and/or programs.

-         Produces, tests, and documents program code.

-         Analyzes source and content of data.

-         Assists others with debugging when necessary.

-         Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans.

-         Collects, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations.

-         Coordinates activities with other departments, as needed.

-         Furnishes professional advice to management and department heads.

-         Makes presentations to committees, task forces, and others, as needed.

-         Prepares charts, tables, and logic diagrams needed in problem analysis.

-         Forms complete descriptions of all specifications required; additionally, develops common operations which can be reused; develops analysis and design of systems and/or programs.

-         Examines, reviews, and/or changes programs to adapt to changes in requirements or equipment configuration.

-         Participates in Company or departmental planning sessions. 

-         When requested, contributes to other department workload deadlines.

-         Provides backup support for related positions as needed.

-         May serve as a leader of various employee project teams ranging from 3-7 resources.

-         Ensures that Web pages are functional across different browser types.

-         Uses experience with a variety of network technologies to lead internal and external clients with Internet-, intranet-, or extranet-based applications, including HTML, PHP, multimedia applications, database interactions and data modeling tools. 

-         Researches, tracks and understands new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to intranet and external Internet-related systems. 

-         Provides written design documents, test plans and test results.

-         Manages, develops, integrates and implements related applications components, including front-end development, server-side development and database integration. 

-         Plays a direct role in programming, maintenance and documentation of the applications. 

-         Establishes and communicates standards to manage cost and ensure continuity of applications.

-         May work with outside vendors in developing tests to ensure feature functionality.

-         Other duties that are within education and experience or the incumbent may be assigned for the betterment of the company.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

-         Expert knowledge of MySQL DBMS, PHP, BASH Shell scripting

-         Excellent debugging skills required

-         Strong knowledge of the Linux OS, Subversion, and MVC Frameworks

-         Solid estimating skills

-         Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical perception

-         Experience building dynamic customer portals.

-         Proven superior ability to learn how to effectively use new software

-         Good verbal and written communication skills

-         Team-oriented/Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple business functions

-         Self-motivated/Solutions oriented

-         Experience with high volume Internet marketing and/or email marketing will be a plus

-         Team lead or supervisory experience/resource development and mentoring skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university; and/or 5-7 yrs minimum related experience. Additionally, experience in a LAMP environment is required.
