PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT - NTHCA Irving-Coppell

Baylor Health Care System is a not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system with many care locations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth community.

The Physician Assistant evaluates, plans, and provides care for patients in consultation with and


under direct supervision of attending Physician. Performs clinical procedures according to


protocols. Develops and maintains active practice in facilities in accordance with HealthTexas


Provider Network protocols.


 

Job Functions

I.


Compile medical history information and other relevant data from patient and


patient's family while updating medical records.


 


II.


Evaluate patient condition and medical needs.

 


III.


Develop plan of care to be approved by attending Physician.

 


IV.


Perform clinical procedures under direction of attending Physician.

 


V.


Perform advanced clinical procedures in emergency situations.

 


Vi.


Initiate orders for routine Laboratory, radiologic, and diagnostic examinations or


tests based on attending Physician's verbal orders or written protocol, to be


countersigned by attending Physician according to established policies.


 


Vii.


Initiate or changes patient care orders due to change in patient condition


according to established protocols.


 


VIII.


Provide follow-up care in collaboration with Physician.

 


IX.


Participate in team responsibilities for delivery of patient care, compliance with


requirements of applicable agencies, and for implementation of ongoing


continuous quality improvement.


 


X.


May perform clinical research on related topics.

 


XI.


May participate with Physician in maintaining an effective on-call program.

 


XII.


Participate in health education and promotional activities as required.

 


XIII.


Attend routine meetings and participate on committee for policy/procedures


development.


 


XIV.


Attend seminars and conferences as required.
