PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT / SURGICAL PA Hospital

New York Community Hospital a voluntary Non Profit hospital located in a pleasant residential area of Brooklyn and a member of the NY Presbyterian Healthcare System has a Per Diem / part time (1/5 “one day”) position available for a  Surgical Physician Assistant. This position currently requires a day shift on Mondays from 8am - 4 PM with the potential to increase to more time as the need arises.  Depending upon future hospital needs, there is the potential for this position to become a staff position.  Individual must be able to perform and document physical examinations on all patients, varied population but primarily dealing with a geriatric population. Will be required to obtain and document patient's medical history, assess and document patient's and/or family's psychosocial issues / Pre-Surgical testing and review. Will perform all aspects of patient care and treatment plans within the PA's scope of practice. Implements therapeutic interventions when appropriate and orders and interprets laboratory tests and other diagnostic tests.  and cares for minor injuries.  May assist in the management of acutely traumatized patients Provides discharge instructions to patient and family. Writes and dictates patient discharge summaries. •           

Candidates must be Licensed, Registered or Certified in the state of New York.

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant Program; NCCPA Certified.
