PROJECT OVERVIEW

Our client has turned to M Squared for a senior project manager to support the governance, reporting, communications, risk management of a PMO in support of a critical integration effort for a large financial services organization. The consultant will bring strong project management and PMO discipline to a well structured organization.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must have:

o Experience in the set up, operation and organization of a PMO

o Previous consulting firm experience

o Previous merger or conversion experience helpful

o Strong leadership abilities including communication and executive presence

RATE

Consultant rate is approximately $11K/per month on W2, exempt level basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage multiple complex work streams, prepare project reports for the executive team, and drive communications within/among teams, and track/resolve issues, conflicts, risks and dependencies. Leverage large company project management experience to build success. The ideal consultant comes with PMO management experience, is business savvy, and an excellent communicator.

The project manager in this role will rely on strong interpersonal skills and the ability to determine the best possible path for complex integration efforts. A great deal of business savvy gained through multiple successful roles will ensure that issues are appropriately escalated and inter-dependencies are well managed throughout the engagement. The ability to discern, coalesce and act upon mission-critical data will be critical to success as well as a demonstrated ability to not get bogged down in the minutia.

LOCATION/DURATION

Work will be completed in Charlotte, NC on a 40+ hours per week schedule, through year end 2010.

FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE

o Any experience in the set up, operation and organization of a PMO required

o Previous consulting firm experience required

o Large, complex project management experience across functions and divisions

o Experience with multiple project management methodologies

o Previous merger or conversion experience helpful but not required

o Effective at managing and mitigating risks and interdepencies

o Strong aptitude with PowerPoint presentation and communication skills, as well as Microsoft Project; Excel proficiency
